Home remedies to heal a bruise

Ice therapy
Reducing blood flow around the bruised area is one to heal the bruise quickly. Applying ice around the bruised area can do just that. The ice cools the blood vessels there by reducing the amount of blood that leaks into the surrounding tissue. It prevents the bruise from being very apparent as well as reduces the swelling. When using the ice therapy, ice the bruise for 10 minutes and then wait for 20 minutes before reapplying.

Heat
The bruise forms multiple blood clots around it, these can be release if some heat is provided to the area, as it increases the blood flow. Some blood gets trapped in the bruise after it is formed, the heat enables an outflow for this blood. Along with the trapped blood, the heat also loosens the tense muscles and relieves pain. You can use a heating pad, a hot water bag or a hot water bottle for the heat.

Aloe vera
This plant is known for its properties to reduce pain and inflammation for bruises on the skin. You can get hold of an aloe vera plant, break one of its stems into half. Extract the gel from the opening that is formed and apply it topically on the wound. This is the purest form of aloe vera that you can get your hands on. If you can’t find an aloe vera plant, you can also buy an aloe vera gel.

Pineapple
Bromelain, a mixture of enzymes, is found on a high potency in pineapples. Bromelain is known to reduce the inflammation around a wound as well as the severity of the bruise. Bromelain supplements are available in the market; you can eat them to heal your bruise quickly, you can also eat pineapples, although bromelain supplements will be faster. Bromelain creams are available in the market; you can apply them topically on the wound.
