Daisy Ridley is probably among the most recognizable young stars of our time, after playing the lead role of Rey in the new Star Wars movies, and with several other high-profile projects coming her way. She notably also featured in Murder in the Orient Express, a high-profile murder mystery adaptation of Agatha Christie’s iconic novel. 2018 is going to be a big year for the actress with the upcoming release of Ophelia (which has already made waves at the Sundance Film Festival).

Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock

The wrestler turned actor is going to be the one of the most noteworthy stars of 2018. He appeared in three smash-hits last year: Baywatch, Fast and Furious and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. 2018 will be a busy year for the Rock – with Rampage having recently gone on a rampage at the box office (pun intended!), and Fighting with my Family and Skyscraper scheduled for release later this year.

Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer Lawrence has shown herself to be a versatile actress who won over the critics for her role in Winter’s Bone. She has dazzled audiences with her range in both character and genre – from Hunger Games’ Katniss to X-men’s Mystique, to her emotion-driven performance in Silver Linings Playbook, JLaw has never failed to rule! She took a bit of a sabbatical in 2017 but this year seems to be her year. With two prime movies in 2018: the recently released Red Sparrow and the eagerly anticipated X-men: Dark Phoenix, she’s well poised to take the cinematic world by storm again.

Timothee Chalamet

Timothee Chalamet has been nothing short of a stellar year for this young and dynamic actor. Timothee starred in Call Me By Your Name alongside Armie Hammer, and received much critical acclaim for that role; as well as a small but remarkably funny role in Lady Bird. He is set to appear this year in Beautiful Boy and A Rainy Day in New York.

Tom Holland

Tom Holland made his Marvel Studios debut as Spider-Man in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, followed by a solo turn in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. He lighthearted and quirky performance swiftly endeared him to casual audiences and long-time Spider-Man fans alike. This year, he will again share the screen space with the likes of Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans in Avengers: Infinity War and has been long-rumored to make a cameo appearance in Sony’s Venom movie. He’s definitely one to watch out for this year.

Chris Pine

Chris Pine is best known these days as Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman and as Captain Kirk in Paramount’s rebooted Star Trek series. He’s definitely been a star in the spotlight over the past decade. And that’s likely to continue in 2018 with his upcoming projects – A Wrinkle in Time, in which he will star alongside Reese Witherspoon, and Outlaw King.

Colin Firth is a man who needs no introduction! A highly versatile actor, his many cinematic accomplishments include wooing the hearts of countless women with his portrayal of Mr Darcy in the 2005 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, an award-winning performance in the The King’s Speech and his turn as the suave and gentlemanly secret agent Harry Hart in the Kingsman films. In 2018, watch out for him in Mary Poppins Returns and the much awaited Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.

Chadwick Boseman

Chadwick Boseman has been making his mark on Hollywood in recent years, and 2018 will up his game to a whole new level. Before this year began, he was best known for his role in the 2017 movie Marshall as the legendary attorney, Thurgood Marshall. But the release this year of Marvel’s Black Panther, with Boseman starring as the eponymous superhero/king, has truly made him a household name! As the first African-American to helm a tentpole Marvel Studios movie, he’s now a part of cinematic history. He’s definitely a star to watch out for this year, with the whole world eagerly looking forward to him reprising his role as the Black Panther in the soon-to-be-released Avengers: Infinity War.
